image People view skin tattoos differently.  Others admire it while there are those who detest its presence.  Tattoos are some form of skin art.  There are countless designs and techniques in doing one.  It is not uncommon these days to see somebody’s body all covered with dark prints.

You can get a tattoo at almost anywhere.  It has become some form of hobby for some and others make it their business.  However, before getting a tattoo, there are things you need to give considerations to.  You have to really make sure that the tattoo parlor you go to is safe and very clean.  In case you forget that the tattoo artist is going to stick needles in your skin, so be choosy of the tattoo parlor.

It is extremely important that the artist uses brand new needles with every client.  Sterile needles are a must in tattooing.  You can even ask the artist to show you the whole procedure including all the needed tools and particular designs.  If the artist gets annoyed and is unwilling to acquiesce to your request, then go to another tattoo parlor.  Ensure that all tools and equipments used in the process are sterilized.  Things should be laid out in plain sight for your tattoo session such as disposable ink bottles that must be used only once.  The artist must wear a latex glove all throughout the procedure and should put on Vaseline on the newly finished tattoo using a disposable instrument and never with his or her bare hand.

In selecting a design, think over it carefully.  Know what you want.  Will you still admire the same design a year after, or perhaps five or ten years?  It is advisable not to get a name that you may want to hide in the years to come.  Parents name are safe, even to that of your children, if you have any.

Once you have chosen the design, talk it out with the tattoo artist on how you want it to appear, like the shading, color and size.  Bring on a copy of the design or the layout and show it to the artist.  If your skin tone is medium dark, you can still have a colored tattoo.  Regardless of your skin color, two layers of your skin color will eventually coat the finished tattoo.  Bright colors have a good effect on dark skin such that orange heals to be bright red.

Prior to making the decision of having a tattoo, you make certain first if you have a good skin condition.  Get your skin ready for it.  Drink plenty glassfuls of water to keep your skin very well hydrated and apply lotion several times in a day.  It is crucial that you bear in mind not to drink any alcoholic beverages a day before and after the tattoo as this may cause excessive bleeding.  In addition, do not get tan days before you will have your tattoo session.

Once you have your tattoo, be diligent enough to care for it properly especially the days that will follow and it is still fresh and not heals completely.  Healing time differs depending on the tattoo size, depth and the procedure applied.
